Writing for 60-minute Drama - 'The Bill' & Beyond

Date: 24th, 25th, 26th February 2010

Venue: "The Bill" Studios, London

Price:  £325 (Inclusive of VAT!)

Do a studio tour, meet the key players and follow the creation of an episode from storyline to transmission. Working in groups, practical exercises will allow you to master the 4-act structure.  You will also compare and contrast other 60 minute series particularly in relation to the differences between 8pm and 9pm timeslots.

The comprehensive 3 day workshop is headed by top writers Tom Needham (The Bill, Cold Blood, Silent Witness) and Stuart Morris (Holby, The Bill, Casualty).

Programme input is provided by Tim Key - Series Producer, Alex Smith - Series Script Editor, Police Advisors and other staff from the series.

This course is a joint venture between TAPS and Talkback Thames.  It will show you exactly how to modify your views of story and structure for the 60-minute drama.

Open to all Writers.  Places are limited.  Please email shamsul@tapsnet.org for an application form.
